O L I V E

Based around a Peonies & Paperclips exclusive hand drawn full colour, olive branch illustration. This collection is perfect for those wanting a Mediterranean feel to their invitation suite.

Maybe you are marrying abroad or simply adore all the tones of green; this fresh colour palette conveys all those warm, exciting summer feelings.

ruby & sam

Finca Serena, Mallorca

- Save The Dates, handmade paper with illustration liner - Invitation card, handmade paper with blind embossed border - Information cards, with various print techniques - RSVP cards, hand dyed handmade paper - Pool party inserts - Vellum wraps, with sage silk ribbon and gold wax seal - Welcome guides for guests - Wedding day stationery - Mini reserved tags with wax seal embellishment

The set beautifully captured here by David C Photography shows many of the elements that Ruby & Sam chose, but how you use the illustration is completely up to you! You may love the mostly white aesthetic with accents of green, or you may want the greens to take centre stage. Another way, in fact my favourite way, to add interest and depth to a suite is to introduce the layering of sizes and textures. Smooth cotton card, combined with textured handmade paper pieces and then thin, ethereal printed vellum holding the suite together in a gorgeous little bundle is a lovely package for your guests to receive. And when these suites are finished with a luxurious silk ribbon and wax seal, it truly has the wow effect!

There are so many gorgeous details to this set and the pieces produced for Ruby & Sam’s day, if you would like to see further pieces and more of this stunning wedding, which I am so fortunate to be able to share with you all, please do read the journal post here.

Whilst it’s a huge compliment that so many of you love the set created for Ruby & Sam, I honestly would love to emphasize how easy it is to make minor changes or inclusions to make the set truly unique to you both and your day. Here are some examples of how other couples have used the Olive Collection and the additions they made…

jamie & mark

Villa di Ulignano, Italy.

- Invitation card on cotton paperstock - Information card on textured paper with use of mini coordinating olive illustration - Vellum Olive print wrap, sealed with gold wax seal - Welcome guest guide - Wedding day fabric table plan signage - Wedding day stationery - Bespoke guest room hangers

Jamie and Mark used the same presentation as Ruby & Sam’s suite with the vellum wrap and gold wax seal, the content however was more contemporary. They chose to have a straight edged cotton paper stock instead of the handmade paper with it’s deckle edges, resulting in less of a fine art feel. The contemporary aesthetic was also echoed on the information card with the cute little addition of a line only mini olive branch illustration. The attention to detail of rounding the corners on this information card also adding interest to any otherwise simple, but elegant card. For the wedding day stationery Jamie & Mark included truly touching elements such as naming each table after a set of grandparents, all of whom are no longer with us, but with this touch honestly had a beautiful presence on their day. Another of my favourite pieces for this stunning couple has to be the huge fabric table plan, it really was a showstopper!

KITTY & GRAHAM

Casa la Siesta, Spain

- Save the Dates, pigment and gold hot foil pressed - Invitation sheets, handmade paper - Information card with gold gilt edges and gold hot foil pressed content - Suite presented with twine and bespoke wax seal with herb fragments - Green envelopes with white ink guest printed addresses - Wedding day signage - Wedding day stationery - Order of Services with silk ribbon

Things that I loved about Kitty & Graham’s suite were definitely the white ink on green envelopes, and I loved how Kitty was keen to use colour, so I introduced a pigment foil for the venue illustration, as well as gold foil for the Save The Dates. This meant when sat alongside the all gold invite set, although elements were repeated, it didn’t feel like a simple repetition, but instead was a very obvious design choice. With hot foil stationery the press plates can be costly, if you can listen to my advice and allow a creative use in this way you will actually save money; whilst still resulting in a wow suite. It was beautiful to see the mini olive branch illustration worked perfectly for a monogram detail and this is definitely something I would like to explore further. And lastly herb fragments in the wax seals!! I was thrilled that Kitty liked this idea, it made each and every seal more unique, and I’m keen to see what else would work well.
